So here we are! We’ve been through a journey of inner and outer worlds together – looking at the external factors that shape our lives, and the internal ones that determine how we move in the world.

There are a few things that we’d like to leave you with, as this phase of the EOV Wellness Program comes to a close.

The first, is to recognize that this is not the end of the program. Your wellness and wellbeing are a dynamic thing – a movement and not a destination. The tips and suggestions we have shared with you are things that you can continue to work with, adjusting, learning, adapting to your own unique needs.

You should acknowledge too that you and your circumstances will change, and this should not be a cause of tension. As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus said, “There is nothing permanent except change.”. Allow yourself to evolve. Know that there will always be good times and bad times – whether it is controlling a junk food habit, or a spending pattern. Just be aware of whether the movement you are making is towards wellness or away from it, and try to hold yourself to a positive course.

The EOV chapters are always a resource for you if you need to refresh yourself on any aspect of your life that may need attention, or if you need to implement some structure to re-establish a rhythm. What we’ve tried to provide you through this program is a range of options, a healthy mix of varied approaches. There is no one way of doing things. What is crucial though, is that you make an effort to listen to yourself and take the effort to evolve. And making that effort yields results in itself.

Be kind to yourself through this process, and by this we really mean try as far as possible that the elements in your life are properly sourced. Whether this the food you eat, or the information you read, make sure that they come from a good, reliable and healthy source. You are what you eat, and you are what you think.

We hope that through the EOV Wellness Program, we’ve been able to show you that you are a unique being, and at the same time, you are part of a long history of human evolution – the product of thousands of years of human behaviour. It helps to know where we might still be catching up in our evolution – and how to deal with our ‘lizard brain’ when it meets our contemporary society.

And finally – none of the specific chapters we’ve shared with you exists in isolation. Sleep is connected to exercise, nutrition is connected to toxic coping. This is true on a personal and a planetary scale. We can see with the COVID-19 crisis, how a tiny virus can affect politics, the economy, international travel, and even our impact on the environment. And the crisis has shown us too, how we as a species can act to make very drastic changes in the way we live, in order to protect our health.

And we want you to remember that it’s not just planet earth – there exists another complex, marvelous constantly balancing and interdependent ecosystem. And that ecosystem is you. Today as we close this phase of your EOV experience, we celebrate that, and we wish you all the very best.
